Field Course Activities of Mining Engineering Study Program UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta in 2025

Yogyakarta, 16 January 2025 - The Mining Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Mineral and Energy Technology, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Yogyakarta, has successfully held field study activities from 6 to 16 January 2025. This activity involved 291 students divided into five batches, with the main objective of providing a direct introduction to earth phenomena in the field.
The location of this year's field course was the Parangtritis coastal area, which is known to have unique geological characteristics. The students carried out various field activities to support their understanding of earth concepts and natural resource exploration. The types of activities carried out include:
- Retrieval and Processing of Iron Sand Sample Data
- Measurement of Discontinuous Fields
- Measurement of Water Discharge Observation of Earth Phenomena
This field course is part of the efforts of the UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta Mining Engineering Study Program to produce graduates who are competent and ready to face the challenges of the world of work. By learning directly in the field, students not only understand the theory, but also gain valuable practical experience.
This activity is supported by supervisors and adequate supporting facilities, so that the entire series of events can run smoothly. With the successful implementation of this field study, it is hoped that students can improve their academic and applicative abilities in the mining field.
